This community event brings together local families, friends, animal lovers, and their pups for a morning dedicated to supporting animals in need throughout Monroe and Walton County, Georgia.

Whether you want to walk with your dog, run the two-mile course, or simply come out and support the cause, the Mutt 2 Miler is a great opportunity to connect with the Walton County community while making a difference for local animals.

Supporting Animals in Monroe & Walton County

The Mutt 2 Miler is about more than getting outside with your pup. Your participation helps support the important work being done every day by the Humane Society of Walton County.

Founded in 2023, the organization was created in response to the need for additional resources for pets and their people throughout Walton County. Its adoption center opened in December 2023, beginning a partnership with Walton County Animal Control focused on increasing lifesaving efforts for local animals.

The Humane Society's mission includes providing sanctuary for underprivileged animals, helping dogs and cats find permanent, loving homes, and providing pet owners with resources, education, and access to spay and neuter services.

Today, its work extends beyond adoption. The organization also relies on volunteers and foster families and operates a county-wide Community Cat Program that helps sterilize and vaccinate community cats in Walton County.

Each of these programs works toward a larger goal: helping more animals receive the care they need while building a stronger community for pets and the people who love them.

A Local Event That Gives Back
